Overview

This position will report directly to the CEO and Board, and will be responsible for strategic leadership, oversight, team and culture building, and core operational functions. The candidate will ideally be based near our Bay Area home office.

Core Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the executive team, develop and implement strategic plans for operational success, aligning with company objectives and long-term vision.
  • Oversee all operational activities related to utility-scale solar and battery storage projects, administration, people operations, and technology.
  • Ensure that operations activities are consistent with Adapture Renewables’ mission, vision, values, goals, and policy objectives.
  • Provide strong guidance and coaching to the leadership team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support company goals and meet operational targets.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Assess and implement improved processes and new technologies in collaboration with management.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders, including clients, partners, regulatory agencies, and local communities.
  • Foster continuous improvement initiatives across operations, implementing best practices, innovative technologies, and process enhancements to optimize performance and reduce costs.
  • Drive clarity of purpose throughout the company using KPIs, budgets, and effective methods of accountability.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 15 years’ experience in renewable developer operations, five of which must have been at the senior management level.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in economics, business, engineering, planning, public administration, or a field directly related; masters, MBA, or JD a plus.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy project development, construction, and operation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on optimizing operational efficiency and performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, permitting processes, and compliance standards relevant to utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners.
  • Strategic thinker with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for business growth and expansion.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
