Building more than just Solar in Southern Illinois

At Adapture Renewables, we believe that building strong, long-term renewable energy projects goes hand-in-hand with investing in the communities where we work. That’s why earlier this month, seven members of our Development team, alongside partner representatives from Alberici, spent the day volunteering with Mission Salem, a local nonprofit in Salem, Illinois.
Mission Salem—recommended to us by the Mayor of Salem—focuses on building wheelchair ramps and other accessibility-related infrastructure for residents in need. Completely donation-funded and volunteer-based, the organization plays a vital role in improving mobility and independence for community members with limited access.
Together with the Alberici team, we spent the afternoon constructing ramp components at Mission Salem’s workspace, with Alberici completing an installation at a residence near our Crooked Creek project site.

“It was great to see how deeply Mission Salem is committed to the community and their goal to improve accessibility,” said Gabe Klooster, VP of Development at Adapture Renewables. “Being able to support their mission while getting to know the people who neighbor our project was incredibly rewarding.”
This effort is part of our broader commitment to supporting communities near our Illinois development sites. We’re grateful to Mayor Farley for the introduction to Mission Salem, and to the Mission Salem team for welcoming and coaching us. We look forward to finding more ways to collaborate in the future.
